The AWU represents Queensland Parks and Wildlife Rangers from Brisbane to the remotest corners of the state. We have members from Cape York to the far south west of Queensland. The AWU is there to support rangers undertaking the important and often difficult task of protecting the natural and cultural values of our national parks and other conservation areas.
The AWU is the only organization that can represent wages rangers industrially - negotiating for better pay and conditions, giving support if a member is facing disciplinary proceedings, and lobbying the State government for better resources are only some of the tasks that we undertake.
Being a member of the AWU allows rangers to get involved and better support themselves and other colleagues. It also assists workers and fellow members in other industries maintain fair wages and conditions across Australia. We need your help to keep in contact with you. We need you to get involved, get organized locally and pass on your opinions about the issues that concern and affect you.
