Don’t Forget AWU Members' Contribution to the Health System

Australian Workers’ Union members are to be congratulated for their hard work in Queensland’s’ Hospitals, AWU Queensland State Secretary Bill Ludwig said today.
“The Queensland Government yesterday released media statements congratulating clinical staff on their performance in hospitals. Operational staff deserve the same recognition.” AWU State Secretary Bill Ludwig said.
Mr Ludwig said every patient who came into a Queensland Health facility relied on operational staff during their stay
“AWU members are the back bone of the health system in Queensland. Health can’t operate without them.”
“These are the people who work hard doing the jobs that no-one wants to think about, but need to be done. Jobs like cleaning, transporting patients to and from surgery, preparing meals and doing laundry. These jobs aren’t glamorous, but they need to be done to give patients the best quality care.”
