Q: What items of AWU members’ log of claims has Q Health responded to?
A: They have made a wages offer of 3.25% p.a.
Q: What items of the AWU members’ log of claims have they made no response to?
A: Q Health has ignored requests for a response and has refused to agree to anything on the log of claims.
Q: Is the wages offer now 4%p.a.?
A: No. Even though Q Health said in their update on 5.9.2008 that the wages offer was 4%p.a., the wages offer is still 3.25%p.a.
Q: So what do Q Health want us to give up for the extra 0.75%p.a.?
A: Q Health wants you to give up your say on contracting out. They also want you to give up your right to have vacancies filled. According to Q Health your agreement to these things and some other conditions is worth 0.75%.
Q: What other conditions have Q Health put on the finalisation of the EB7 agreement?
A: Finalisation of the agreement has also been made conditional on whether other occupational groups like the Building, Engineering and Maintenance union members finalise their negotiations.
AWU members across Queensland are meeting to consider taking collective action to force Q Health to take negotiations seriously. It is important that all members are kept up-to-date with what is happening in the campaign.
