Message to all Queensland Health Team members from the Australian Workers’ Union
Dear Queensland Health Employee,
Members of the Australian Workers Union, who work along side you as operational staff in QHealth, may be taking Industrial Action in the coming months as part of their campaign to get a fair deal from the State Government during this years’ Collective Bargaining campaign.
Operational Staff are vital to the running of hospitals and other Queensland Health facilities, and deserve the recognition, respect and resources they need to do the best job possible. Currently, while workloads for all employees in QHealth are increasing, the resources provided to get the extra work done are not. This campaign, and any industrial action which may occur as part of it, is aimed at redressing these shortfalls.
We know that as a fellow employee, you appreciate the importance of the work that AWU members do, and are aware of the special sets of skills that are required to do their job well. On behalf of all AWU members in QHealth, I regret any disruptions that may be caused by industrial action, and thank you for your anticipated support for this campaign to get the best health system possible.
After all, you know better than most: ‘Operational Staff – Health can’t operate without us’.
