Government’s Wages Offer = 3.25%

The latest inflation figures have highlighted the inadequacies of the Queensland Government’s wages policy across the whole of the public sector.
The Government is asking workers in Queensland Health to accept a wage increase of 3.25%. This means that workers would take a ‘real’ wage cut.
Currently the average CPI rate across all capital cities is 4.5%.
All reports have said that the latest inflation figures have blown all previous forecasts out of the water.
The current position from the Government is that we will have to trade off conditions to get an increased wages offer.
This comes on the back of other groups receiving increases without having to give anything up.
The only way for everyone to show Queensland Health that we will not accept the current inferior wages offer is for everyone to get active and involved and united as one union.
If we are serious about protecting and improving our conditions, we need to ensure that we are Union Strong.
Questions to ask Queensland Health
What makes Queensland Health think that workers will be happy to accept a wages offer well below inflation?
How come operational staff are being asked to provide increased productivity for our wage increase, when other groups received increases without making any “trade offs”?
